Theodor Rühle studied modern philology at the university from 30-10-1911. Rostock ↗️ and on 25-09-1914 he gave up his studies to join the German army.

On November 20, 1917, Theodor Rühle was taken prisoner of war near... Cambrai ↗️ .
There is a document from the British "Military Forces" which states that Theodor Rühle was interned in a "prisoner camp" in Southampton ↗️.

He appears to have been in more “prisoner camps”, but the documents that could prove this were located in London and were destroyed in bombings during World War II.

After an intensive search lasting 5 months, the family has finally been found.

An article was published in the JOURNAL of the Rhein-Zeitung on September 20, 2014.
